Bio

I’ve worked as a French and German teacher for many years (Y7 to Oxbridge preparation) and love sharing my passion for languages with my students. I also examine A level Thinking Skills. Mentoring students (and teachers) has always been one of my favourite parts of the role.

My interests include:

• Travel – and if I can pick up a new language at the same time, even better!

• Reading – anything and everything

• Hiking (I once trained to be a mountain leader) and spending time outdoors

• Enjoying London life – visiting galleries, museums, concerts and the opera

• Music – I used to play the clarinet and saxophone and have sung and played in various choirs and orchestras. I’m currently relearning to play the piano (not very well yet!)

• Cooking – I’ve got a terrible weakness for cake.

• Playing board games and cards – but watch out, I’m pretty competitive!

Approach

Whether you are preparing for transition to secondary school, want to find the fun in your studies again or are getting ready to go off to university, I would love to help. I’ve interviewed hundreds of 11+ candidates and helped many students prepare for university applications, admissions tests and interviews.

Connection is really important to me. I like to get to know my mentees so that I can bring your interests into our work together. I love variety, being creative and having fun. I’d like our sessions together to be enjoyable because that’s one of the best ways to learn.

I know that not everyone finds school easy all the time and have supported lots of students build their confidence, find their sense of purpose and become more independent in their learning.
