Approach
My interest in education has been borne out of my own fantastic experiences at school and working with inspiring young people across a number of different contexts. I am passionate about empowering people to identify and harness their strengths, personality, and star quality by providing a fostering, supportive, warm relationship . I have seen first hand how effective this is in discovering potential.
My approach is fun, energetic and optimistic and I incorporate different teaching and coaching strategies in a person-centred and holistic manner.
What parents say
"Our son got offers from Highgate, Merchant Taylors', Mill Hill School and Wetherby. And he was added to the reserve list to St.Paul. Really pleased with the work Mentor Alice did with our son. He was able to practice interview questions for 11+, articulate what he enjoys in school and does outside classroom. But on top of 11+ we saw a positive change in our child's understanding of himself. He realised why he likes individual sports and got more into tennis and asked to bring back online architecture lessons he used to do during pandemic. It was the motivation from within which was amazing to see and It came after first few coaching sessions with Oppidan." Mother of Year 6 Student, March 2024
"Alice has a dynamic, engaging and enthusiastic approach. She has a very natural manner when dealing with teenagers. Couldn’t fault only compliment." Mother of 16-year-old daughter, January 2024
"We have been with Alice since the start of the summer, so far they have a good relationship and are working on my son's English, adjectives, descriptions, adverbs, and diary writing. It's been fun." Mother of Year 6, September 2023
"I thought you’d be thrilled to know my son received offers from Eton, Radley, Marlborough, Teddies and Waitlisted for Wellington. Please thank Alice on our behalf as I am sure she helped a lot with his confidence!" Mother of Year 6 Student, May 2023
“Wonderfully engaging!” Parent of Year 6 student, August 2022
“Alice is brilliant, she keeps the motivation going and is excellent.” Parent of Year 6 student, August 2022
“We thought Alice was excellent. Insightful, empathetic and full of good ideas to help my daughter navigate the new school mire.” Mother of 11-year-old, December 2021.
“Alice has been absolutely outstanding - she has really inspired and motivated my son, communicated brilliantly with me after every session and overall we feel that he is well-prepared for his first interview tomorrow. She has boosted his confidence immeasurably.” Mother of 16-year-old, August 2021.
“The preparation from Alice was excellent and indeed our real interview experience so far is very close to what they practiced, and many tips worked out very well. So I would be delighted to recommend both your service and the mentors to anyone who might need them in the future.” Parent of 11-year-old, January 2021
“Alice’s challenging, fun, interesting and educational sessions have made such a difference. My son can struggle to concentrate and focus, but Alice has been so patient and engaging, and he has been able to show his funny, smart and engaging self. The practice with Alice has made him realise that his view of the world is interesting, unique and valid, and I think he will have the confidence to speak as himself and know that whatever the outcome he should be proud. Alice’s sessions with him were important and confidence building. She has a real gift.” Mother of Year 6 student, January 2021
