Academic mentoring for students

Our mentors are carefully paired with students to build lasting relationships. We provide consistent feedback, personalised sessions and clear structure for improved confidence and academic results.

What parents say

What is mentoring?

Mentoring is a holistic approach to education that goes beyond traditional tutoring, offering long-term guidance from a specifically chosen adult to enhance overall academic engagement and personal growth.

Benefits of mentoring over tutoring:

  • Mentoring focuses on sustained academic and personal development rather than short-term academic results.

  • Mentors provide individualised support tailored to the student's unique needs and goals.

  • Mentoring addresses not only academic achievement but also personal growth, confidence building, and essential life skills.

  • Mentors form lasting relationships with students, fostering deeper connections that inspire and motivate.

  • Mentors, often young professionals, serve as relatable role models who are not as connected to the school system, making it easier for students to connect and engage.

We mentor young people to academic success.

We believe every young person should have a mentor: an inspiring person invested in their future. Mentoring develops confidence, academic attainment and engagement in school life, preparing them for life abroad. Whether online or in-person, our mentors are trained to help unlock student potential and break through barriers to success.

How it works

  • Tell us about your child

Get in touch with the team. Our client managers will discuss your child over the phone to align expectations.

  • Make a plan and agree focus

We’ll create a structure together and decide how best to support you and your child.

  • We'll find a mentor for your child

With a plan and your child’s profile, we’ll find a mentor most suited to their interests and personality.

  • Start sessions and track progress

Once your child and their mentor are underway, we’ll monitor progress and track the impact of sessions in line with the overall focus.

Our mentors are extraordinary people

They're hands down the best thing about Oppidan. We train them carefully for work with families and schools and also run ongoing professional development workshops to ensure they stay on top of their game.
