Bio
I moved from Australia when I was 3 and have lived around schools and education all my life. Both my parents are heads of private schools around London and my older sister is a teacher too so it was not surprising that I also went into work within education.
After leaving Oxford with a first class degree and an Oxford Blue for rugby, I set myself the challenge of working in the city for a year then moved on to do an MA in Screenwriting with my twin brother at London Film School. Since then the two of us, alongside our jobs as Oppidan Mentors, have been starting our careers as hoepful writers. Recently we have reached the point where we have an agent at Curtis Brown representing our writing and have had several meetings about projects of ours.
Away from mentoring and or writing, I am a big rugby and golf fan, I love drawing and sketching, and I have recently returned from 6 months in France where I went to learn French alongside Swedish which I have been learning since 2020.
Approach
I have done over 1000 hours of mentoring for Oppidan and I have mentored on a variety of topics and subjects. Having been to Eton and having a father as a former house master there, I have a lot of hours of Eton 11+ work, which is a very strong area of my mentoring. Overall I feel I have developed a specific and successful approach with applications for schools from 11+ all the way up to Oxbridge applications.
Outside of 11+, I have tutored practically every Common Entrance subject, Maths, English, French, RS and History at GCSE level, and humanities at A Level and beyond. Having got a first from Oxford, I have worked also with university students on applications and on university time management and mindset.
In addition, I have greatly enjoyed the over 4 months of combined residential work I have done with Oppidan in the Bahamas, Spain and Italy and like to incorporate my sports/art and literary interests into longer-term opportunities like that.
