Bio
Hi, I am Lilia, an enthusiastic and friendly medical student at Imperial College London. I am a native French speaker who has experience with tutoring French as a foreign language at the GCSE level. This is my speciality.
With a strong academic background and practical understanding of STEM subjects, I possess the skills to help develop your understanding of key concepts, and exam techniques and build confidence. Additionally, I provide guidance and support to aspiring medical students throughout the challenging admissions process.
I have worked with students across a wide range of ages, 7-13, providing academic mentoring for competitive entrance exams, GCSE & A-Level. Beyond tutoring, I am fluent in French, participate in musical theatre productions, and am the Welfare Chair of the Student Union.
Approach
My tutoring approach centres on creating an interactive, personalized learning experience tailored to each student’s needs. Sessions focus on identifying strengths and weaknesses, with follow-up lessons engineered around knowledge gaps and prioritising growth areas.
A priority of mine is building student confidence - I encourage students to ask questions, use their knowledge and apply critical thinking. Furthermore, I work with students to pinpoint and identify areas lacking confidence and adapt our lessons to address these challenges. This makes intimidating concepts graspable through clear explanations and examples.
By focusing on personalized comprehension and infusing clear examples and explanations into my work, my students build the foundational knowledge and self-assurance to unlock their highest potential. My goal is to enable each student to leave sessions feeling capable, motivated, and confident in their abilities.
